Water Yoga allows you to rest and relax at the same time

The new revolution that is sweeping the spas and swimming pools is called the"water yoga", a new form of yoga specially developed to practice in the water, perfect combination of relaxation, meditation, flexibility and concentration. This is a highly recommended activity for your overall health.

This discipline, originating in India, offers the possibility of traditional yoga postures in the water and get the benefits without the risk of injury, as it reduces the impact on joints and muscle overload. It also facilitates the elongation of the entire body and helps you relax.

It is especially recommended for people:
  • With limited physical capabilities
  • With injuries like arthritis or bone disease
  • People who need rehabilitation after an accident
  • Overweight or obese
  • Pregnant

Because of the unique properties of water people of all fitness levels can safely enjoy water yoga. Conditions such as arthritis, MS, obesity, and others can make traditional yoga practice on land extremely difficult. The force of gravity during standing poses (“asanas’) may also be too great for deconditioned individuals just beginning physical activity after illness or injury. Water Yoga Poses will help them a lot.
The water yoga can be done in summer in the pool, the sea and the river, even in the bathtub of our house (with warm water). Also, in winter in heated pools and jacuzzi.
Not all the Yoga Poses are for water yoga. There are some special Yoga Poses for water yoga. You should know these Yoga Poses before you start practicing Water Yoga.
Water yoga is low impact and gentle on the muscles and joints, making it perfect for the elderly, pregnant women and people with injuries or chronic conditions. Additionally, the buoyancy of the water cushions falls and makes certain postures, like handstands, safer than on land.
